Summary:
A mountain top masterpiece, The Ramblers have been taking cable ferries and Cornish backroads to this hidden gem for 40 years. Set in National Trust land the panoramic views across Plymouth Sound are
worth the trip on their own. Navy nerds will enjoy the boats, normal folk will savour the sunsets. No loo and no running water – this is village cricket at its most basic and most beautiful.
Pitstop:
A perfect place for a picnic, but stock up at Sainsbury’s on route, as the local shops ain’t that local. The Edgcumbe Arms is the pub of choice – real ale fans will enjoy The Tribute while the
carvery should keep the carnivores happy.
Mount Edgcumbe is so super stunning we felt it deserved a gallery all to itself. Pics below from Tour 2011.
